My Handmade Pink & Green Cat Fabric

I have a number of leftover pillowcase liners from my 'stuffing' of  cats and dogs in my shops. I buy regular pillows and use the fill for all my pillow pals and plushies. So I have all these liners that I have kept for various things. The most recent ones I have collected are a 60% cotton/40% polyester medium weight fabric. Much heavier than the  muslin that normally encases the polyfil. So I made my own fabric print!

I used green fabric pastels for the circles, black ink for the cats, then I took a thread spool and added petals around each circle with pink paint.

Each cat is different! So now I am thinking...what will I make with this 24" x 18" fabric? I thought a pillow sham might be nice with a pink envelope back and ruffle. But I also have more pieces and thought perhaps a summer top would be cute, too. So, I am looking for suggestions!
What do you think?

  1. I love the pillow sham idea with envelope style and I can picture pink trim, like ruffle trim.
I cannot believe you made your own fabric - and that it is awesome.

  3. Anything you make with this beautiful, unique fabric will be awesome! I can see it in a simple little summer top or I really love the pillow sham idea, too.
