The time has come! After 30 some years of waiting and wishing......

Stevensville, MT

I'm moving to Montana!

I'll be leaving in July with my sister, who has also decided she is tired of Ohio, and we will drive with whatever we can fit into our cars. Everything else must go! Chubbs, her kitty, and my guinea pigs, Tooey and Violet, will be coming. I will be looking for homes for my other piggies.

Since Chubbs will be traveling with us, he needed a harness for our rest stops. I have not made such things before, so like any good creative soul, decided this was a good time to try! He has never been in any kind of clothing or harness before, so this was quite a shock to the fat guy! Fat indeed! He has 22" girth!

As you can see, Chubbs has some adjusting to do!

I had such fun making this one, that I made another 'plus size' kitty harness-jacket and listed it in my shop. I do believe these will become more populous in both Mewmart and Catcalls

I will try to keep you posted on our preparations. I am having a moving sale this Saturday, June 9 and my sister is having one June 23 to raise money for our trip.  So we have plenty to do. I have very little - she has much more! LOL
Prayers are always welcome! For both the leaving and the traveling.....
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

  2. Oh Patty, I am so happy for you. I know you have wanted to move there. You will be very happy and that is what is important.
I love both vests, but have to say I laughed out LOUD when Chubs starting walking backwards. He'll get used to it. It looks great on him.

  4. congratulations! or should i say: bon voyage! you've wished & waited a long time for this move. very excellent that your sister will be sharing it all with you.
the cat harnesses are brilliant! i, too, was laughing at chubbs trying to back out of it. make sure to take business cards with you, people at every rest stop will want one. (the harness, not chubbs.)

    1. My kids are all SOOOO close and best friends that they will all take very good care of each other. I will miss them for sure, but they can have a free place to stay for a vacation if they like! And there is always skype now-a-days! DH and I will have long distance relationship for now, but he knew I was going back one day, so it wasn't unexpected.

  7. Best of luck to you!! Love your adventurous spirit!!!

I am sorry but when I read this the first thing that popped into my mind was the song by Frank Zappa..."Moving to Montana soon, gonna be a dental floss tycoon".....sorry...it's from my college days!

Can't wait to hear how everything goes!
Best of luck and safe and happy travels!

  8. Patty ! I'm THRILLED for you and especially that your sister is making the move with you. That feels right to me... knowing that you will have family with you and WOW on downsizing on the guineas. I hope thats not too 'difficult' for you but I'm sure you will find FAB homes for them.

The cat coat is awesomely beautiful, dear. You are so talented with making patterns. I JUST washed both the cat and dog pillows yesterday. You know... Dingo loves both of them and has one at each end of her bed so that when she turns around she still has one.

We LOVE you and look forward to your travel tails and hearing about your new home.

    VERY BEST wishes !

    1. Thanks, Nicole! LOL on the pillows! SO glad they are loved.
Yes - to try and take all the piggies would be very traumatic for them and with what appears to be two cats now, it may be dangerous! I can keep two piggies in my bedroom, but not 5! I am looking for nice peeps to take them
And thank you on the cat harness! I had such fun making them! I made a couple more for Catcalls, too!

  10. So happy your dream is coming true! Was Montana your original home? Many of us sled dog people would like to move there too - because it's a great place to run dogs and so beautiful! Wishing you many blessings!
