Committing to De-Clutter!
I had a lovely piece of white vintage textured cotton with little red flowers on it that I just loved. I kept saying I would use it for something special, but last night as I was on a spontaneous de-cluttering mission, I decided it was time. And I'm happy. I like my new kitties. Amazing how a piece of lifeless fabric can impart life to a project!
I have decided to commit to de-cluttering. I hope to share something weekly from the scraps I did keep so I won't get over-burdened again in my 8" x 10" space that is also my bedroom!
Here is Tulip
This red fabric is also left over vintage. This kitty sachet is scented with a lovely lilac fragrance from rice that was combined with several drops of essential oil.
Both of these little purrsonalities can be found in my Catcalls shop. Just click on the pictures!
I would love to have some of you join me in this endeavor. Please share any of your own hording to de-cluttering stories!
Sweet Tulip! She is charming and born from de-clutter. You are inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI spent my day working on de-cluttering my home. Lots of magazines are going. I have nearly every Victoria magazine ever published. Country Living, Southern Living are hard to part with as well.
adorable!!
ReplyDeletelovely kitties. But I do agree with the de-cluttering idea. I have already started in a small way by putting bits and pieces together in art quilt kits in my shop. Plus I am refusing to buy any more stock until Ive used up at least some of the piles that have been sitting around in drawers for years that were absolutely necessary at the time for some obscure reason! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am sure all sew-ers have stash piles. We are all hopelessly addicted to fabric! I figure if I commit to using up old stash weekly, at least I will constantly be aware of what I have as well as be using at least SOME of it!
ReplyDeleteThese are both so sweet and much more interesting than pieces of fabric :>) I've been doing the same - today was my rubber stamps. Sometimes though I feel like that guy in the commerical - I pick things up and I put them down ~ lol ~.
ReplyDeleteyou know I've been working up to decluttering. got started on one room, just need to continue. i probably have a gold mine of craft supplies hidden away to get rid of. I just love Tulip! She's so pretty and I love her name.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that cat widget is great :)
Almost everything in my Wuglyees Etsy shop fits this bill!! :-) Yours make very cute Kitties!
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of your decluttering abilites - which I am the worst at. And for you to come up with such brilliant creations. These 2 are so cute. I love that white fabric with the red flowers.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are so wonderful. Tulip is as lovely as her name. Bravo for you for working to de-clutter. I know I am addicted to fabric. I keep trying to convince myself that I shouldn't buy more until I run to the end of my stash. I don't know if I have the willpower - lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! I'm definitely on a roll right now. Who knows how long it will last though! I'll be back next week with another goodie!
ReplyDeleteAs you know, Tulip is my favorite! I want to share with you a fabulous life changing book by Karen Kingston called Clear your clutter with Feng Shui. It talks about the simple act of clearing clutter transforming your life by releasing negative emotions, generating energy, and allowing you to create space in your life for the things you want to achieve. I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteWith that said, I have to admit that I hoard boxes, and kind, even ratty ones full of black marks from the UPS Truck. You never know when you are going to need a box, right???
Lovely! Hehe you give mean inspiration. I want to make one,but of course...a turtle not a cat ;)
