TOOEY TELLS
...a guinea pig's view of life.
Though I am very nervous around dogs, I still think every dog deserves a fair shot at a good home. So please take a look at my mom's changed up poem about Black Dogs.
RUFF RHYMES
This week is dedicated to the Black Dogs in shelters in hopes of bringing a bit of awareness to their plight.
Did You Know: " We are guessing that the general public is not aware of how doomed black dogs are when they are brought to a pound because black dogs, particularly black labs or lab mixes, are euthanized at a horrifying rate at many pounds & shelters because people pass them up for lighter colored dogs."
Arf arf black dog
Have you not a home?
No sir, no sir
Black's bad luck, I'm told.
Please look into my eyes,
And listen to my heart,
Black dog love's forever.....until death do us part.
Thank you for reading RUFF RHYMES! Please support fellow dog lovers by clicking each picture to see the shops, leaving a comment here, or purchasing! If you have dog items in your shop, please leave a comment with your shop address so I can check it out and possibly use something for another RUFF RHYMES feature!
It is so sad, but my favorites are black and tan anyways. Folks usually flock to the red dachshunds the most when adopting, but we go for those eye dots with fursonality. heehee. I am sorry not much of a big dog lab person. Not much room for them here at my house. Hope more of them find homes though.
ReplyDeleteIt is really sad. I love black dogs. It's my favorite color. I wonder what scares people away from such a shiny, rich black coat? Or what myths surround such a falseness.
ReplyDeletePaws crossed for home for all of them.
I learned something I didn't know on your post today...about black dogs! Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in black myths of beliefs. Black is beautiful and black dogs are great!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Patty!
I like all colors - it's sad that dogs are discriminated against too.
ReplyDeleteditto Lisa's comments. I love black animals and have a black cat to prove it!!!
ReplyDeleteHope all the black pooches find homes!
It's so sad
ReplyDeleteAll the black dog I've known have been lovely!
Thank you for featuring my dog kisses card. The dog in the photo, Sia, is a pit bull mix who was lucky enough to be adopted from a shelter in spite of her color. I also am the proud owner of a (mostly) black shelter pup.
ReplyDeleteYou have found my photography shop at www.lindentreephotograph.etsy.com. I have 2 other stores. One is a fun store where we sell all sorts of gifts for pets and their families. www.zhuzhusworld.etsy.com
The third shop I share with my young daughters. We use recycled materials to make journals and pet toys. The best part is that a portion of the money we make is donated to the girls' favorite charaties, 2 of which are animal shelters. You can see our stuff and read our story at www.recycledarts.etsy.com
If I have over stepped by adding my store addresses, please remove them but also we would love for you to check them out.
Those are lovely pictures of black dogs :)
