About The Feral Cat Rescue Project
The Feral Cat Rescue Project photo blog is an attempt to document the lives of feral cats and their plight. I do my best to feed and care for them, and to protect them from danger. The Feral Cat Rescue Project is not a 501(c)3 charity; it's just the effort of one impoverished artist.
~ Chriss Pagani

Today, October 15, 2012, is Blog the Change for Animals. There are many many good people out there who engage daily in selfless actions to help change the course of life for many of our furry and 'unfurry' friends. I want to highlight one of those people.

Chriss has literally given her all for the care and feeding of the feral cats that she has devoted her life to. Through her beautiful photography, she has allowed a glimpse into the lives of those that are too often considered unworthy of a place on the earth. Her own tragic background has perhaps allowed her to experience a deeper empathy than most toward the plight of these kitties. The loss of her own cat several years ago certainly played a large part as well in her current efforts to provide a safe place for these feral felines.

She has captured and neutered dozens over the years through the help of a local vet and used to house them in an old trailer on her sister's farm property. Sadly, an electrical fire earlier this year wiped out the trailer and as of this writing, I am not sure if she has yet found a place for the 30 or 40 that depend on her to winter over. But she continues to feed and care for them as best as she can through her sales of her art and photos and donations of other caring cat lovers.

Her blog header states:

Photos of feral cats and rescue cases. Full of beauty and sadness, feral cats are not trespassers nor are they alien invaders: feral cats are part of our natural world. This photo-blog documents the lives of feral cats; raw and real. It is not a place for studio portraits or carefully photoshopped pictures of fluffy purebred kittens. Real life is not always pretty, as you will see. This is the feral life.

Please visit her blog. You will find many gorgeous photos as well as her full story along with links to her art and photography and other selling venues. I included a couple of them here. And please consider a donation. A little can go a long way!

God Bless you, Chriss! And thank you!

Monday MEWsings presents Artistically Created Cat Photo Cards

          JoysBarnLions

Welcome to another week of Monday MEWsings! The PURRson I have chosen for today's post is not only a member of the Cat Avis Unite Team on Etsy, but  also a believer in spay and neuter programs for feral cat populations. Her shop is full of  charming photos and artistically altered photos of sweet kitties in the form of note cards. ( And one lone dog photo!) Your purchase will serve as a delight to your eyes AND provide help for the feral kitties in Joy's neck of the woods!

"I created Barn Lions to help control the overpopulation of cats. I donate profits to help spay and neuter feral cats. Barn Lions was named after one of my barn cats who looked just like a little lion when it was a kitten. I began taking photographs of cats as a hobby. I work with the images to bring out a more enchanting dimension of the cat. I've been printing my images on note cards and giving them as gifts, now I offer them for sale. You can find out how Barn Lions is helping cats by visiting my website at www.barnlions.com."

Click on the photos for more information and purchasing.

THANK YOU for your kind heart, Joy!

Obviously she has dog themed items, but she is also an avid cat lover and has some very cool things in her shop! Read her profile then click on any of these listings. You can be certain that your purchase is benefiting cats and dogs somewhere in Alaska! And if you add 25OFFDOG4U at checkout, you will receive a 25% discount!
Bow-wow and  meowy meow meow! 4 dogs and 3 cats allow us to live with them. We just adopted Milo and Wilson from Golden Retriever Rescue in Fairbanks. They are old farts; Milo is 8 and Wilson is 11!

I am passionate about animal rescue and the proper treatment of them. Check out my favorite non-profit rescue groups ~ Without them many lives would not be saved. They are my heroes! I donate my time and creations by myself and various Etsy artists to them both.

www.alaskaspca.org (I donate my handmade jewelry, decorated glassware, this and that along with my creative talents and give 100% of the sale to the SPCA.) Now, I
have a special category for animal fundraising! Check it out!

Welcome to

MEWsings

A display of some of my favorite cat items from a selected Etsy shop!
MEWsy on over and see for yourself by clicking on any of these feline goodies. Today, let's peek in the window of Beeblecat’s  shop!

"Beebles is a little black cat that lives at our cage-free sanctuary where she get lots of love and care. The sales from Beeblecat’s shop go toward food and medical care for her and all the many other cats that are living out their lives in the sanctuary. All items are created or furnished by Joyce.
Beebles and all the other cats thank you for visiting."

I so love the fact that these beautiful offerings are two fold - the owner receives a genuine hand crafted article and the sanctuary receives much needed supplies. And everything is extremely affordable!

I hope you'll visit and PURRuse her shop!
