Guinea Pig Slippers? You Bet!

Aren't these the cutest things you ever saw! LOL! I randomly mentioned to my sister....jokingly of course...."I want guinea pig slippers for my birthday," since my feet are always cold and it IS almost winter.
Lo and behold - about two weeks later - straight from Monster Slippers - here they are!
She got online right away and couldn't believe she found them.
Neither could I! I'm sure my face was more than hysterical when I opened my bedroom door (because I heard her laughing so hard) and saw them sitting there.

Thank you, Mare!!

I look like I have a new fangled snow shoe - they are SO big! But look at Tooey! He loves them too....

Tooey is Sleeping!

Today it was 75 degrees in the greenhouse! Tooey was having the time of his life running and playing while I was cleaning up the grapevines. I don't know how long it had been, but when I looked over at him, this is what I saw:

Isn't he the cutest little piggie ever!

Tooey Never wants to leave Montana!

Special thanks to my friend K for this sweet little poem she wrote! Tooey is honored!

Tooey is the best of pigs.
Amongst the dirt and the twigs,
He made a nest
To take a rest.

My Warm Montana January - Starring Tooey!

Yep! This is Montana! Absolutely gorgeous on Thursday the 24th and I could hardly focus on work. I went outside running in the morning and walking in the afternoon and kept watching the bald eagle fly over the river and back. By the end of the day, most all the snow was off the road and much of the ground was showing. It was about 52 degrees out!

...and Tooey was HAPPY!

After an hour in the greenhouse, he went to sleep.....

Stay warm all you BRRR COLD peeps!

Bathtime for Tooey!

Ya know - I really don't like these. My mom thinks they're necessary for some reason. For cryin' out loud - I'm a guinea pig! Who cares what I look (or smell) like!

And they're embarrassing!

I mean - how many people do YOU allow to see you while dripping wet with your fur (clothes) on?

Well - at least I'm good for another month now. Stress - no one ever thinks about the stress we guinea pigs must suffer....bad for our health....shortens our lives....probably our fur too.

Charlie Brown and The Guinea Pig

Yes - Charlie Brown and the Guinea Pig.

You all know this tree. Sad, wimpy, a loser, if trees are classified as such.
And yet this tree probably graces more households this year than ever before and will become one of most remembered in years to come. I know it will for me.

I have a wonderful husband who loves me more than anything. We both knew we were going to get a Charlie Brown tree this year. I had planned on going to a local field to try to find a scrawny 2 foot something that would suffice. But he said he would go to his parents and bring one back. I said that would be fine, of course. And so in the interest of eco-friendliness, he and his dad enjoyed a moment of father-son togetherness as they picked out this dandy, dug it up, and placed it in a biodegradable pot so we could give it to someone else to plant in the hard frozen ground when we are finished with it.

I have decided to call it Herman because "Her" (that's me) "man" (that's hubbs), got it for me.

This is Violet, my guinea pig. Isn't she sweet looking?

Don't let that face fool you!

She can be WILD!

I have 5 guinea pigs that each have their own cage. Violet and her son share the table top where Herman now sits. So I placed her underneath my desk on the rails.

I have had several piggies sit here with no trouble....

until NOW! This is what I came home to after running. She apparently was doing a little running of her own! But I will commend her for staying IN her cage in spite of the opportunity to run off!

And while I am on the subject of guinea pigs....

I received these lovely prints from my dear friend and Petsjubilee teammate, Pauline from PaulinesFashions on Etsy. I LOVE them!

Thank you, Pauline! I love you!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas whether you have a Charlie Brown one or not! And try to stay out of trouble....
